Charities

With the mission of bringing more than professional hockey back to Indianapolis, the Indy Fuel is proud to work with several charities around Central Indiana to reinvest in their community.

BBBS_PMS2592 Serving as a mentoring program for youth around the Central Indiana area, the Indy Fuel is proud to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana!  The Fuel’s opening night ceremonies were made even more special as the team auctioned off special-edition inaugural game jerseys with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.
Susan-G As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Indy Fuel helped “Fuel the Fight” against cancer throughout the entire month of October, culminating in the Team’s “Fuel the Fight” Night on Oct. 24.  The Fuel scored a 5-1 win over the Missouri Mavericks, but the fight against breast cancer was the real winner of the evening as the team auctioned off specialty pink jerseys to help support the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Central Indiana.  A portion of the proceeds from special pink merchandise purchased throughout the entire month was donated to help the foundation fight breast cancer.
Operation-Hat-Trick In support of current military members and veterans, the Indy Fuel hosted their inaugural “Military Appreciation Night” on Saturday, November 15.  The 3-2 win over the Wheeling Nailers was only a portion of the evening’s success as the Fuel auctioned off special-edition game jerseys with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Operation Hat Trick.  Originally founded out of the hockey-rich community at the University of New Hampshire, the organization is dedicated to providing support and awareness to America’s Wounded Warriors.  Special edition merchandise was also sold in the Indy Fuel merchandise store with a portion of each item purchase going to OHT.
Movember-indy The Indy Fuel teamed up with Movember Indy to help raise awareness for men’s health issues.  Through the entire month of November, the Fuel players and staff rocked their best mustache before wrapping up the month’s contests on Saturday, November 29th for “Movember Shave the Date” night against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Gleaners The Indy Fuel might have fallen to the Orlando Solar Bears 4-1 on Wednesday, Nov. 19, but the real winner was Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana as the two teamed up for “Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana” night at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Indy helped fuel the Gleaners “Food and fund” drive by offering a free blanket to those who donated a nonperishable food item at the game.  In addition to the food donation, the Fuel also donated one knit item (hat, scarf or gloves) for each one purchased at the Indy Fuel merchandise store.
Make_A_Wish The force was strong with the Indy Fuel and the Make A Wish Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana as the team made a donation to the foundation during their inaugural “Star Wars Night” on Wednesday, Dec. 17th.  The team continued their commitment to the organization as the Fuel auctioned off off game-worn black jerseys from the final home game of the inaugural 2014-15 ECHL season with a portion of the net proceeds benefiting Make A Wish of Central Indiana.
Toys_For_Tots The Indy Fuel helped spread some Christmas cheer as they hosted the Toledo Walleye on Friday, Dec. 19 on “Walleye Fish Fry Night” at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.  Despite a 4-0 loss on the scoreboard, the Fuel and Toys for Tots were the real winners of the night as the team collected toys for the annual toy drive, sponsored by the United States Marine Corps, with each fan who donated a toy receiving a special edition Indy Fuel holiday ornament.
HC Fire Fighters Memorial The Indy Fuel helped honor the memory and sacrifice of local Central Indiana heroes as the team paired up to help raise funds for the Hamilton County Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial on Saturday, February 14th against the Cincinnati Cyclones.  Money raised at the event was donated to help fund a memorial for local firefighters who gave their lives in service to their community.
Prevail The Indy Fuel helped aid in the support and advocacy for victims of crime and abuse as the team auctioned off game-worn red jerseys at First Annual Indy Fuel Awards Banquet at 502 East Event Centre on April 12.  A portion of the net proceeds from the auction will be donated to Prevail of Hamilton County.
