Defenseman Kyle Rhodes signs ATO with Fuel

Sudbury Wolves captain tallied 24 points in 57 OHL games this season

INDIANAPOLIS – The ECHL’s Indy Fuel announced Thursday that they have signed defenseman Kyle Rhodes to an amateur tryout contract (ATO). In addition, the club waived forward Michael McNicholas and released goaltender Edwin Minney from his ATO.

Rhodes, 20, looks to make his professional debut with the Fuel after spending the last four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The 6-foot-3, 206-pound defenseman from Ashburn, Va. tallied a career-high 24 points (10g, 14a) in 57 games this season with the Sudbury Wolves, serving as the club’s captain. Prior to arriving in Sudbury, Rhodes compiled four goals and 19 assists in 163 OHL contests over a three years with the Guelph Storm from 2014-2017. 

The Fuel return to Indiana Farmers Coliseum Friday night to take on the Fort Wayne Komets. The Hoosier State showdown falls on a Do317 Night – as fans can enjoy $3 beer and soft drinks, $1 hot dogs and $7 t-shirts.
