#5 | DEFENSEMAN | UPPSALA, SWEDEN

2017-18 STATS: 52 GP, 10 G, 34 A, 44 PTS, +8, 20 PPP

Returning for his second season in Indianapolis after tallying 10 points in 30 games in 2016-17, Robin Press enjoyed a breakout 2017-18 campaign. Skating in 52 games, the defenseman registered career bests in all offensive categories en route to setting a new single-season franchise record in blue line scoring with 44 points (10g, 34a). Indy's Defenseman of the Year led the team with a +8 rating, and was a key weapon of the Fuel's top-ranked power play unit with 20 points coming on the man advantage.

Press caught fire in the second half of the season, tallying a total of 26 points (7g, 19a) in 21 games from Jan. 27 to March 11. This stretch included a franchise-long 12 game point streak, when he picked up four goals and 13 assists from Feb. 14 to March 9. The ECHL took quick notice, and named Press the league's Player of the Month for February; the first time a defenseman has won the top montly award in 15 years.

Under contract with the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs, Press also saw action in seven AHL games in 2017-18, recording two penalty minutes.

"Presser came in this season with a fantastic attitude. He was probably the biggest reason our power play was number one – when it was clicking he had all kinds of confidence. He really raised his game for us."  - Head Coach Bernie John
