Taking a look at what the Fuel have been up to off of the iceDec 18, 2018
This season the Fuel are proud to be teaming up with PNC Bank to help make a difference around Central Indiana. Each month, we’ll take a closer look at what the Fuel organization has been up to away from the rink in our Community Spotlight.
The Fuel worked with Girls On the Run Central Indiana to put on the second annual Indy Fuel 5K on November 10, 2018. Prior to the race several players visited GOTR chapters in the Indianapolis area to help girls 3rd-8th grade practice healthy lifestyle choices while building their confidence and creativity.
In the week leading up to Pucks and Paws night, the Fuel partnered with Indianapolis Animal Care Services to surprise the players with dogs from a local shelter after practice. The partnership hopes to bring awareness and attention to dogs looking for a permanent home.
This offseason the Fuel teamed up with the CBS4 Reads program, geared to promote literacy and reading in the Indianapolis area. This November, Fuel players Miles Liberati, Alex Brooks, Neil Manning and Jordy Stallard partnered with CBS4 personalities Frank Wickens, Star Derry and more to visit West Clay Elementary and Thorpe Creek Elementary to share their passion for reading.
The Fuel are dedicated to fostering youth hockey in Central Indiana. Several players hit the ice to join Junior Fuel players at their practices to show them some tips and tricks!
To celebrate the Fuel's Marvel Superheroes Night characters Star-Lord, and Black Panther visited children at Community Hospital North.
